Countdown.....

We are flying back to the states in 27 days and Peyton is so excited! She is ready for the plane ride, to see family and see all her people. She is constantly looking for airplanes in the sky, talking about the whole trip (and how we will be sleeping on the plane), who she wants to see (she even remembers friends names like...Emma), and also everything she wants to do with all her family members! She is very excited but also getting antsy! She is also starting to ask questions about when we go back to the "old house" and although I told her someone bought it and a new family lives there (not true since it is still for sale but easier than explaining the truth) and we can't go...she still wants to.

So, the other day I helped her make a calendar to cross of the days until we leave to visualize how many days we have left....and we started making a list of things she wants to do with G and Papa when we get there. I told her to tell me when she thinks of something and we can put it on the list which hopefully will limit how many times I get to hear the list!

It is an impressive list and only growing by the day...

Part of all the discussions and planning has resulted in me starting to have some concerns and would appreciate prayer over the following...
  • That I find the appropriate words and explanations for Peyton to understand that this is a visit and that we are coming back. I know she is so excited about seeing everyone but I know she doesn't realize it is temporary and given how hard of a time she has had with missing everyone I know the good bye is going to be awful and I want to prepare her as much as possible
  • For understanding that Daddy is not coming with us initially and will be flying later. As much as I tell her the process, she always includes Daddy in our trip and stories
  • That I adequately prep her for G and Papa's new house and that we are not going to what she knows as their house, then when we go to League City...we are not being at our house. I am worried it will be very confusing for her when she has associations with certain places but none of those places are the same.
  • Oh....and me flying home with two kids...I just got an email saying that the airline changed my seats so I am no longer sitting next to my two kids...although that could be nice for me, I am sure the other passengers would not be too pleased. I am planning on calling them this week and hoping to get it settled prior to getting to the airport for my 1:00 AM flight.

So excited that you are going to be here to enjoy some time with your family. I think of you and your bravery and obedience to God often. Will definitely continue to pray for you!
